National Nurses Week kicks off this weekend and there is a lot happening. The American Nurses Association (@ANANursingWorld) has planned numerous events and activities during National Nurses Week, May 6 – 12, all centered around this year’s theme, “Nurses: Inspire, Innovate, Influence.” Whether you are a nurse yourself or have a nurse you care about in your life this week’s Friday Five offers a variety of different ways you can “inspire, innovate or influence” yourself or that beloved nurse in your life.

Mark your calendars and be sure to participate in these informative events taking place during National Nurses Week. To start with, the ANA will host free webinar on May 9, Emerging Technology and Its Impact on Nursing Practice, along with Dan Weberg, PhD, RN who will explore emerging technologies and the impact on nursing practice. Next the ANA joins forces with HIMSS and the Alliance for Nursing Informatics to bring us two more complimentary webinars: Nursing Informatics 101: Developing an Engaged Nursing Informatics Culture on Tuesday, May 8 and Advancing Nursing Informatics: From Learner to Leader on Thursday, May 10.
