Federal Judge Halts Professional Degree Rule Affecting Graduate Nursing Loans
From the Nurse.com Team – In April 2026, the Department of Education finalized a rule redefining advanced nursing programs as graduate degree programs rather than professional for federal student loan purposes. However, a federal judge has temporarily blocked enforcement of that revised definition while a legal challenge moves forward.
