Wellness Wednesday – Nurse Lauren’s Picks for Healthy Summer Smoothies
Hi there, Nurse Lauren here with your Wellness Wednesday Tip! The weather is getting hotter and we are at the midpoint of the summer season. I love to make a good smoothie when it’s humid outside. They are refreshing and if made with the right ingredients, can be healthy too! Cooking with the oven and stovetop can be tough to do when trying to beat the heat; so gather up some fruits and veggies and take your blender off that top shelf.
Check out these links to four of my favorite healthy summer smoothies:
Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie
from Food with Feeling (@FoodwithFeeling)
Ingredients Needed: 1 frozen banana, ½ cup of milk (any kind you desire), ½ cup of yogurt (you could leave this out if desired or swap it for an equal amount of frozen cauliflower), 3 tablespoons of peanut butter (can also swap out for 2 tablespoons of peanut butter powder)
This is Nurse Lauren, contributor of NursesNOW, signing off with your Wellness Wednesday Tips! Remember, smoothies are a great choice for a healthy summer snack. For more on healthy eating check out my Health Meals with Nurse Lauren Infographic.
