A Look at Nurse Practitioners Labor Statistics
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in May 2022, the latest data available, nurse practitioners had employment of 258,230 and an annual mean wage of $124,680, approximately double the U.S. average wage of $61,900. About 92 percent of nurse practitioner jobs were in the private sector. Employment of nurse practitioners is projected to increase by 45 percent from 2022 to 2032, much faster than the average of 3 percent for all occupations.
