ICYMI – Day 9: Ladies of Health IT

Jan 10, 2019 | Posted by Industry Expert | Health IT, HIT Feed, Our Shows |

Our Annual 12 Days of Christmas Posts featured the women of Radio on Day 9, ICYMI check it out below. See all of our 12 Days of Christmas Posts.

On Day 9 we are dancing and celebrating the women in health IT. And what better way to hear what they have to say than check out our radio archives for some on-demand episodes. And we found plenty. Here are nine ladies talking healthcare and health IT about compliance issues, the cloud, precision medicine, patient matching, interoperability, cybersecurity, value-based care, the Quality Payment Program, and behavioral health to name some of the conversations you can hear.

Take a listen and thanks for tuning in!

From 1st Talk Compliance, host Catherine Short talks with Allyson Britton DiRocco, attorney at Morris James LLP, about “ADA: Important Issues and Trends for Employers.” They discuss important issues employers face when handling ADA issues with their employees and provide insight into the legal analysis of ADA claims. There is also information regarding what is protected and what qualifies as a disability under the ADA, how to assist employers in handling a request from an employee for a reasonable accommodation, and how to provide employers with insight concerning the legal analysis of an ADA claim by an employee.

From The Tate Chronicles, host Jim Tate’s guest is Danielle Siarri  (@innonurse) who has a Master of Science in Nursing Informatics and is a Registered Nurse with experience ranging from hospital setting of transplants and trauma to case manager in a corporate environment. She is very active on social media with tweets, blogs and interviews and brings a global perspective to her healthcare view.

From CTO Talk, host Matt Ferrari talks with Glenda Anderson, CEO, Farsight Genome Systems about how precision medicine is benefiting from the cloud, speeding the time to market from genomics research and testing to clinicians providing patient care.

From Harlow on Healthcare, host David Harlow talks with Leslie Krigstein (@lmirvine), VP of Congressional Affairs for CHIME (@CIOCHIME) about the challenges, technical and legislative, faced by the health IT industry as it works to deliver solutions in the realms of patient matching, interoperability, cybersecurity, support for addressing the opioid crisis, and more.

From Healthcare de Jure, host Matt Fisher chats with Teresa Rivera, President and CEO, UHIN about value, the role of data clearinghouses and how health information exchanges support care coordination.

From Payment Matters, host Jeff Lin is joined by Sarah Bettencourt, Treasury Manager, PCI and POS Services, Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Sarah shares her experience implementing a P2PE Validated solution at a major health organization – including best practices and lessons learned.

From Voices in Value-Based Care, host Beth Houck talks to Holly Arends (@HollyQCprojects), Quality Improvement Practice Coach, Quality Consulting. Living in a value-based care world means that providers and payers need to find ways to engage with patients to encourage healthy behavior. With social determinants of health essentially standing in the way of this objective, they explore ways providers and payers can be a part of the solution but it requires change in mindset and approach to care within the healthcare organization as well.

From The Incrementalist, host Dr. Nick van Terheyden aka Dr. Nick talks to Lisa Suennen (@VentureValkyrie) discussing women in business, venture capital and healthcare and how to make that happen.

From Conversations on Healthcare, Hosts Mark Masselli and Margaret Flinter speak with Linda Rosenberg (@linda_rosenberg), CEO of the National Council for Behavioral Health on their recent report done with the Cohen Veterans Network confirming that America’s mental health crisis is a result of lack of access to care. She discusses the need to remove barriers to behavioral care, the need to embed behavioral health in primary care and for much better mental health and addiction training for providers and social workers.
