HealthcareNOW Radio will be celebrating its 7th birthday this year as we mark HIMSS19. We debuted the station in 2012 and today, HealthcareNOW Radio’s live streaming audience exceeds 25,000 listeners a month. The station’s archive of podcast episodes on SoundCloud is approaching 10,000 plays per month. Combined, we expect to hit 500,000 listens and plays in 2019.
Contributing to this growth is the line-up of shows and the hosts who work hard to shed light on the biggest challenges and opportunities impacting health IT and healthcare delivery. You can check out all of the shows on our program page.
Also contributing to the growth of the station are the many ways you can listen to the live stream and play our archives. You can of course always stream our live station on our platform, HealthcareNOWRadio.Airtime.Pro and visit our podcast archives on our SoundCloud channel. Below though, we’ve listed 5 other ways to start tuning in and keep tuning in.
Amazon Echo Smart Speaker
If you own a smart speaker for home and/or your office, you probably have an Amazon Echo. Because we stream a live radio station, you can listen to it while you work, or at home. Just say “Alexa, play HealthcareNOW Radio Station.” If you haven’t enabled radio streaming on your Echo it will prompt you to do so and you can then start streaming away.
Live Stream on iTunes (Computers, Laptops, Tablets)
You can listen to our live streaming station in iTunes and here’s how:
Go to your iTunes, and under File click Open Stream. A box will open up prompting you to enter a stream link. Just copy and paste this URL and you can stream away: http://healthcarenowradio.out.airtime.pro:8000/healthcarenowradio_a
iTunes Podcasts (iPhone, Smart Speaker, Computers, Laptops, Tablets)
There are three ways to play our archive of podcasts in iTunes.
- On your iPhone say “Hey Siri, search for HealthcareNOW Radio” and it will prompt you to Open Podcasts. From there, you can listen to the current and previous episodes. Be sure to subscribe to get notification of new episodes.
- On your computers, laptops, tablets, you can search podcasts for HealthcareNOW Radio OR click on our iTunes page and under the HealthcareNOW Radio logo hit View in iTunes. Please do us a huge favor and give a rating for the station or any of the podcasts you listen to or download.
- If you have an Apple Home smart speaker, you can also say “Hey Siri, search for HealthcareNOW Radio”.
