EveryBody Deserves a Massage Week, sponsored by Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, runs from July 16th through the 22nd. ABMP started EveryBody Deserves a Massage Week in 1995 as a way to bring together the community of bodywork professionals and offer therapy to help those who may ordinarily not be able to afford services. Now over 20 years later, ABMP is still encouraging bodywork professionals from all over the country to participate.
Get Involved
There are many ways to get involved with EveryBody Deserves a Massage Week and ABMP offers a variety of ways to celebrate as well as materials to promote your event. Not sure where to start? Here a few simple ways to support the cause:
- Volunteer to give massages to public service workers. Think police, firefighters, teachers… those in need of some stress relief!
- Host an event to educate people about the benefits of massage for both pain and stress relief.
- Accept canned goods as tips during the week and donate them to a local food bank.
- Choose a day and let your clients know you will be donating all of your tips to a local charity.
The list goes on and on and the possibilities are endless. Be creative and know that your hard work is bound to pay off. Whether you volunteer solo or as an entire practice you are sure to make an impact and spread the word about the many benefits of massage in your community.
