In this session, Chris Bowen, Chief Privacy and Security Officer and founder of ClearDATA, will discuss the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which goes into effect on May 25, and the implications for companies that handle data belonging to Europeans. The session will include an overview of GDPR requirements and penalties with a focus on best practices in the use and protection of data for EU entities and data locality planning.
Chris Bowen is Chief Privacy and Security Officer and founder of ClearDATA. ClearDATA offers technology and services to assist organizations with their healthcare cloud computing and security needs. Chris is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals; and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP℠) from (ISC)2.
