In order to bring much needed attention to the disease, the world, recognizes September as World Alzheimer’s Month and September 21st as World Alzheimer’s Day.
Astellas Oncology Finalists to Present Live at Stanford Medicine X
Astellas announced the five C3 Prize finalists chosen to present their ideas live at the Stanford Medicine X conference on Sept. 17 to a panel of judges including Robert Herjavec, dynamic entrepreneur, passionate cancer caregiver and star of ABC’s Emmy Award-winning television show, Shark Tank.
Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month
September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance have come together and formed the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance to lead in advocacy, research and support for patients and their families.
The Walking Gallery Year 6
By Regina Holliday – This is the sixth year of the Walking Gallery of Healthcare. We now number over 400 members walking around the world with patient story paintings on our backs. We are attending medical conferences where often there isn’t a patient speaker on the dais or in the audience. We are providing a patient voice, and by doing so, are changing the conversation.
National Health Center Week – August 7th-13th, 2016
In order to honor and raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s Health Centers, we celebrate National Health Center Week (NHCW) each August. This year the national campaign runs August 7-13th and the theme is “Celebrating America’s Health Centers: Innovators in Community Health.”
National Immunization Awareness Month
The National Public Health Coalition presents National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) every August to highlight the importance of vaccinations for people of all ages. NIAM was created to encourage all people regardless of age to become up-to-date on their vaccines.

Wear Blue Day – Friday, 6/17
June is Men’s Health Month and the week prior to Father’s Day is scheduled to be Men’s Health Week. The Friday of Men’s Health Week is Wear Blue Day, a program designed to raise awareness of men’s health issues within your community while at the same time raising money for Men’s Health Network.
June is Cancer from the Sun Month
After only 15 minutes your skin can experience damage from the sun’s rays. Skin cancer rates have steadily increased in the United States every year and it is by far the most common cancer in the U.S. Here is some of the best advice from the American Cancer Society and the CDC.
