Patient Safety Awareness Week (March 10 – 16, 2019) is an annual recognition event intended to encourage everyone to learn more about health care safety. During this week, The Institute of Healthcare Improvement (@theihi) seeks to advance important discussions locally and globally, and inspire action to improve the safety of the health care system – for patients and the workforce. This week’s Friday Five rounds up some resources and events regarding patient safety.
10 Top Patient Safety Concerns for 2019, Ranked by ECRI Institute
Becker’s Healthcare reports that using EHRs to communicate diagnoses and manage test results earned the No. 1 spot on ECRI Institute’s list of the Top 10 Patient Safety Concerns for 2019. ECRI Institute (@ECRI_Institute) compiled the list based on an analysis of more than 2.8 million patient safety events collected in the ECRI Institute PSO database since 2009, along with expert opinions from a panel of internal and external patient safety leaders.

2019 Best Hospitals for Patient Safety
