This year’s Great American Smokeout is on November 21st, just one week away, and our Friday Five offers tips, information and resources about smoking in support of this worthy event.
According to the American Cancer Society, smoking remains the single largest preventable cause of death and illness in the world. Fortunately, each November The American Cancer Society hosts The Great American Smokeout which challenges current smokers to take the first step towards quitting.
Every year on the third Thursday in November, The Great American Smokeout challenges people to stop using tobacco. This week’s Friday Five takes a look at smoking in 2017 and how to help yourself or someone you love put down the cigarettes for good.
If only for one day, make a commitment to stop smoking. Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the US, including an estimated 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. #GreatAmericanSmokeout
