New Podcast Episodes

Simplifying the payment process for healthcare can be like turning a large ship, but bundled payments have been a large step forward. On this new episode of Paradigm Shift of Healthcare, the trio of Michael Roberts (@michaelwroberts), Scott Zeitzer, and Jared Johnson (@jaredpiano) speak with Dr. James Ballard, an orthopedic surgeon in Portland, about the benefits of bundled payments for patients, payers, and providers. When doctors look at the world, they can bemoan all the difficulties of the healthcare system, or they can look at them and find opportunity in the challenge.

And on another new episode of Paradigm Shift… In a career of accolades for innovation and technology, one of Dr. Ira Kirschenbaum’s greatest achievements has to do with people. After 17 years growing two orthopedic practices, he uprooted from the comforts of White Plains, New York and relocated to the South Bronx to provide care in the poorest congressional district in the nation. Now 11 years later, Dr. Kirschenbaum has grown the team to 14 surgeons and 70 employees, seeing more than 430,000 patients a year. His lessons about recruiting, innovation, and balancing the business of healthcare with the humanity of their mission are priceless.
