Healthcare has been faced with a significant challenge – over 15% of patient medical records are erroneous or incorrect and mismatched. This problem has been getting worse as we add data that we increasingly understand is an important contributor to overall health and wellness but must be matched correctly. We discuss the announcement on the “100% of the U.S. Population Has a Universal Patient Identifier” which even if this were the case does not solve core challenges in patient matching.
