The AI early sepsis detection tool, developed by Johns Hopkins and Bayesian Health, is a machine-learning system that combines patient medical history and current symptoms with laboratory results and alerts doctors when patients are at risk for sepsis. When clinicians acted on Bayesian’s alerts in time, sepsis patients were 18% less likely to die in the hospital.
