Red Ribbon Week, observed annually from October 23–31, is the nation’s largest and longest‑running drug‑use prevention campaign. What began in 1985 as a tribute to DEA Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena has grown into a nationwide movement empowering schools, families, and communities to promote healthy, drug‑free lifestyles. Each year, millions of students and educators participate in themed activities, assemblies, and awareness events that reinforce the importance of making positive choices. The 2026 theme: “Make a Difference. Be Hero. Stay Drug Free!”, calls on everyone to take a stand for prevention and inspire others to live courageously and responsibly.
