Every May since 1949, Mental Health America and their affiliates across the country have led the observance of Mental Health Month by reaching millions of people through the media, local events and screenings. Mental Health America is dedicated to helping ALL people live mentally healthier lives and to bringing the topic of mental illness out of the shadows. MHA believes our bodies and minds work together and to be truly healthy our whole selves. This week’s Friday Five provides online mental health assessments, a nonprofit working to reduce physician burnout, resources to help you better understand mental health and support those who may be struggling.

Mental and Physical Health Go Hand in Hand
Digital Mental Health Tools: A New Frontline Against Clinician Burnout
Health care workers endure some of the most intense strains on the body, both physically and mentally. These issues can also affect each other. For example, musculoskeletal conditions can lead to exhaustion, and poor work-life balance can lead to dizziness from fatigue. Everything could culminate in an entire workforce experiencing burnout, impacting their ability to give patients the care they deserve. Digital tools are becoming a valuable resource for helping these employees by alleviating the industry’s mental burdens.
