The college ranking website BestCollegeReviews.org (@BestCollegeRev) has released its 2017-2018 rankings for the top 30 online RN to BSN degree programs.
Programs were ranked based on points accumulated in categories including curriculum, awards and recognitions, accessibility of learning materials, and return on investment.
A recent report from the Institute of Medicine recommends that 80% of current RNs should study and earn their Bachelor of Nursing degree by the year 2020. With this level of care, they hope to see morbidity and mortality rates decrease. In addition, with more in-depth education, nurses become more familiar with the workings of the healthcare system and are better able to articulate specific needs and fundamental problems within the system that need to be addressed.
There are approximately 100 schools currently offering RN to BSN online programs around the U.S. The editorial staff at Best College Reviews evaluated each program using the above-mentioned criteria to identify the top 30 programs available.
